DNAnexus Cloud Genomics Platform Now Supports Data Management And Genomic Analysis For Leading Genome Research Center

MOUNTAIN VIEW, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--DNAnexus Inc., the global leader in genome informatics and data management, today announced that the Stanford Center for Genomics and Personalized Medicine (SCGPM) has adopted the company’s cloud genomics platform to support data analysis and sharing for its sequencing facility. Researchers across nearly 80 laboratories now have access to SCGPM’s DNAnexus portal for the delivery and analysis of their genomic sequencing data.

“DNAnexus is proud to support SCGPM’s sequencing services and the broad research initiatives of its laboratory customers.”

The SCGPM seeks to advance genomic technology so that genetic and molecular profiling will become powerful tools routinely used to understand, detect, prevent, and treat complex disease. To move toward this goal, a centralized command center was needed to securely store, share, and analyze the large volumes of genomic data that are generated by the core sequencing facility. DNAnexus provided a scalable enterprise solution to automate, manage, and deliver samples generated by the core sequencing facility to their laboratory customers. At its initial launch, 40-50 sequencing lanes were delivered per week through the new DNAnexus portal, a throughput rate which can scale up quickly as sequencing volume increases.

“Stanford has long been a leader in genomics and continues to develop new approaches to revolutionize the way medicine is practiced. Their sequencing services require the management of a tremendous amount of sensitive data across a distributed network of researchers and scientists. This is a massive undertaking that requires a secure and proven genome informatics and data management platform,” said Richard Daly, CEO of DNAnexus. “DNAnexus is proud to support SCGPM’s sequencing services and the broad research initiatives of its laboratory customers.”
