Cure rates are about the same for a number of the most common prostate cancer treatments, says a study in the January issue of the International Journal of Radiation Oncology.The study of 2,991 men with prostate cancer found similar cure rates after treatment with surgery, radiation, permanent seed implants and permanent seed implants combined with radiation therapy. Outcomes for patients treated with low-dose external beam radiotherapy were significantly worse.
