In premenopausal women with breast cancer, the risk of death is increased if a child was born less than two years before the cancer diagnosis, Australian researchers report. Dr. John L. Hopper from The University of Melbourne and colleagues used data from the Australian Breast Cancer Family Study to assess the impact of recent childbirth before diagnosis on subsequent mortality in 750 premenopausal women with breast cancer.
