DUBLIN--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Covidien plc (NYSE: COV) today reported results for the second quarter of fiscal 2012 (January-March 2012). Second-quarter net sales of $2.95 billion increased 5% from the $2.80 billion reported in the second quarter of a year ago. Foreign exchange rate movement lowered the quarterly sales growth rate by one percentage point.
