Complex Biopharmaceuticals Tech Transfer Challenges - a Case Study by Catalent Pharma Solutions Expert to be Presented at PDA Annual Meeting

SOMERSET, NJ, APRIL 3, 2012 – Edwin Hoppenbrouwers, Director of New Product Introduction, Sterile Technologies, Catalent Pharma Solutions, will be presenting “Challenging Technical Transfer of a Biopharmaceutical – the Product X Case Study” at the 2012 PDA Annual Meeting in Phoenix, AZ on Monday, April 16, 2012, between 10:30 a.m. and 11:15 a.m.

Mr. Hoppenbrouwers’ presentation will focus on Catalent’s expertise in providing solutions for tech transfer projects when working with complex products and will address the following common challenges:

- temperature instability,

- formulation development and manufacturing issues, and

- visual inspection, packaging, and frozen chain supply distribution for complex biopharmaceutical products.

Throughout this case study, Mr. Hoppenbrouwers will demonstrate the ability to identify novel approaches and manufacturing best practices which allows Catalent to provide reliable solutions for the most challenging tech transfer projects.

Mr. Hoppenbrouwers is Catalent’s Director of New Product Development for Sterile Technologies. He has a Masters Degree in Chemical Engineering and is licensed in pharmaceutical engineering. He has extensive experience in pharmaceutical research and development and expertise with sterile facility design, project management, and technical sales.
