Colorcon Inc. will introduce a new fully formulated coating, Acryl-EZE® II, optimized aqueous acrylic enteric system, at the American Association of Pharmaceutical Scientists (AAPS) Annual Meeting in San Diego, CA (Booth #1023). Acryl-EZE II represents Colorcon’s continued innovation and leadership in developing formulated film coating systems that bring enhanced functionality along with improved convenience for pharmaceutical formulators.
According to Cornelis van den Muyzenberg, VP Global Business Development at Colorcon Inc. “Colorcon has developed Acryl-EZE II, a high performance enteric coating system that eliminates the need for plasticizer addition and can be applied at lower weight gains compared to existing Acryl-EZE systems. As another innovative addition to our portfolio of delayed release coatings, this advanced film coating system, offers enteric performance over a wide range of pH media for acid-labile drug formulations, as well as to help prevent drug-induced stomach irritation. It is a fully formulated system which brings not only convenience but also reduces potential errors of raw material handling and application during manufacturing.”
The new Acryl-EZE® II coating system, available in wide range of pigmented formulations, is produced by Colorcon and combines the benefits of a fully formulated system with the features and performance of a globally accepted enteric polymer EUDRAGIT® L 100-55, an Evonik product. The new product will be co-launched under the previously established cooperation agreement with Evonik Industries AG for the marketing and technical support of Acryl-EZE® aqueous acrylic enteric systems. The cooperation has resulted in enhanced global technical support to the pharmaceutical industry through the Evonik network
