Colorado BioScience Association Names Colorado Bioscience Institute Executive Leadership Class Of 2016

Life science leaders to gain new skills, knowledge and peer mentorship opportunities as part of seven-month training program

DENVER--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Identifying a personal leadership style. Building and motivating an effective team. Creating a strategy, navigating challenges and executing successfully. They are critical elements of business success. The Colorado BioScience Institute (CBSI), a partner organization to the Colorado BioScience Association, provides life science leaders opportunities to sharpen skills and gain knowledge with a learning and leadership program designed specifically for industry executives.

“I really appreciated the structure of the program. The peer group and mentor meetings helped to reinforce the techniques and lessons that were shared in the classroom meetings.”

The Colorado BioScience Institute’s Executive Leadership Program class of 2016, now underway, includes more than a dozen leaders from established and emerging Colorado companies:

Charlie Manuele, Allosource
Charles Dorsey, Aytu BioScience
Robin Harper Cowie, Biodesix
Jeff Castleberry, EndoShape
Matt Seefeldt, Gates Manufacturing
Ivan Vesely, Infinity
James Morris, Integrated Surgical Sciences Corporation
Stephen Michael Rothenberg
Christine Spraker, Matrix Analytics
Mike Lochhead, MBio Diagnostics
Bob Reddy, Medtronic
Preveen Ramamoorthy, Strand Life Sciences
Lori Ann Santamaria, Surefire Medical
Lance Ferrin, Allison Medical

Recognized leaders in the bioscience field provide expert advice on specific skills needed to grow organizations and illustrate them with real-world examples.

Additionally, the program provides peer support and encouragement, something many leaders say they lack. Through mentoring programs and peer-to-peer coaching, life science leaders can work on leadership and business challenges unique to their organization, develop coaching skills for employees and establish long-lasting relationships in the bioscience sector.

April Giles, President and CEO of CBSI, says:

“It’s critical to nurture our up-and-coming life science industry leaders to encourage continued growth in our thriving sector. The 2016 Executive Leadership Class honors life science entrepreneurs, and provides the training and networking opportunities they need to build successful companies.”

Pamela Vetter, Director of Regulatory Policy for Allosource; Member, Class of 2015 says:

“I really appreciated the structure of the program. The peer group and mentor meetings helped to reinforce the techniques and lessons that were shared in the classroom meetings.”

Industry-recognized bioscience leaders will provide their expertise throughout the 2016 program. They include:

David Perez, President and CEO, TerumoBCT
Scott Beck, Founder and CEO, Tango
Larry Gold, Founder and Chairman, Somalogic
Ginger Graham, President and CEO, of Two Trees Consulting

The 2016 program launched in February and continues through August.
