The recently completed installation for Minot, North Dakota-based Trinity Health provides an integrated and electronic healthcare information system solution that will seamlessly combine Cardiac Science Corp.'s Pyramis ECG Data Management System within Cerner’s comprehensive hospital information system architecture.

“This successful implementation represents a significant milestone in our long-term efforts to offer advanced cardiology data management solutions to a broader client base of hospitals and physician offices,” said John Hinson, chief executive officer of Cardiac Science Corporation.

“Our Pyramis solution provides clients with a scalable and high-quality cardiology information management system that is easy to use, learn and support,” continued Hinson. “By leveraging our strategic VAR agreement with Cerner, we are now in a stronger position to maximize new sales avenues for our ECG products and services.”

“Our decision to move forward with Pyramis is based largely on its seamless integration capabilities with Cerner’s information system, which we anticipate will provide an efficient, flexible and user-friendly solution best suited to our evolving needs,” said Mark Waldera, director of therapy services at Trinity Health. “Successfully implementing the Pyramis solution represents a critical step for us as we transition towards a fully integrated electronic medical records system at Trinity Health.”

While many health care organizations typically process and collect vast amounts of patient information generated from disparate sources in hard-copy format, the healthcare industry is increasingly moving towards implementing electronic-based information systems to more efficiently integrate and manage all of the interrelated data.

Cardiac Science Corp.'s Pyramis ECG Data Management System centralizes diagnostic ECG data to provide instant electronic access to this information at any time or from any location. By automating and streamlining the storage, editing, retrieval and sharing of patient cardiology data including resting ECGs, stress tests, Holter tests, and 12-lead ECGs from bedside monitors, Pyramis helps increase workplace productivity and efficiency within hospitals and physician offices to provide enhanced patient care.

The global VAR agreement was originally signed with Cerner Corporation by Quinton Cardiology Systems, a predecessor company to Cardiac Science Corporation, in November 2004.
