Biotechnology has contributed to increasing farm productivity in Brazil and may now provide tools to control diseases, such as Zika, Brazilian researcher Pedro Machado said during a forum in the Italian capital.
Machado, who works for the state-run Brazilian Agricultural Research Company, said technology was being used to reduce the risk of contracting certain diseases.
