2006 Pharm Country Hotbed Homepage
Sponsored by Biotechnology Council of New Jersey (BCNJ), CURE, Long Island Life Sciences Initiative (LILSI) and Center for Biotechnology, Pharm Country is a unique branding and awareness campaign highlighting the organizations that constitute the dynamic bio-pharmaceutical industry of Connecticut, New Jersey, New York and Pennsylvania.
Bioscience companies AstraZeneca, Wyeth and Pfizer, and service providers Cardinal Health, i3 Research and Pall Life Sciences are among the life science-related organizations featured in the campaign. The effort also features research institutes, non-profit organizations and universities within the area.
“Recent reports issued by FierceBiotech, The Biotechnology Industry Organization (BIO) and Battelle, and our own industry survey conducted with Ernst & Young all point to the continuing emergence of New Jerseys’ biotechnology cluster,” said Debbie Hart, President of BCNJ. “The messages and outreach generated by the fifth edition of the Pharm Country™ Hotbed Campaign will play an important role for BCNJ, reinforcing the news that ‘good things’ are happening in New Jersey.”
“With a renewed emphasis on Pharm Country as the sole Hotbed Campaign for the states of New Jersey, Connecticut, New York and Pennsylvania, BioSpace continues its work with regional leaders to communicate daily on BioSpace.com the area’s life science industry activities,” said Brian Vacanti, Vice President of Marketing for BioSpace. “The fifth edition of the campaign captures the commitment of its members to life science industry growth. This is mirrored in BCNJ’s efforts, as New Jersey was recently named one of the world’s top five growth markets for biotechnology.”
The campaign features the iconic Pharm Country Map, created by BioSpace’s professional artist, which displays the corporate logos and facilities of participating organizations. The map is further enhanced through the integration of many functional components, including a Pharm Country Hotbed Homepage on BioSpace’s industry-leading Web site, BioSpace.com. Copies of the Pharm Country Map are available through BioSpace.
