BioNJ’s 26th Annual Dinner Meeting & Innovation Celebration to Honor New Jersey’s Innovators and the Patients and Advocates Who Inspire Them

Considered the kickoff event of the year for the life sciences industry, BioNJ’s 26th Annual Dinner Meeting & Innovation Celebration will take place Thursday, February 7, 2019 at the Hilton East Brunswick.

TRENTON, N.J., Jan. 3, 2019 /PRNewswire/ -- Considered the kickoff event of the year for the life sciences industry, BioNJ’s 26th Annual Dinner Meeting & Innovation Celebration will take place Thursday, February 7, 2019 at the Hilton East Brunswick. More than 700 biotechnology and pharmaceutical professionals, academic leaders, service providers and government officials will come together to honor the groundbreaking medical innovation coming from the Garden State.

The evening will include the presentation of the twelfth annual Dr. Sol J. Barer Award for Vision, Innovation and Leadership to Dr. William Hait, Global Head, Johnson & Johnson, External Innovation by Dr. Sol J. Barer. The Dr. Sol J. Barer Award was established in 2008 by the BioNJ Board of Trustees to recognize outstanding leaders who’ve made significant contributions to the life sciences industry in New Jersey and around the world.

“As a trained medical oncologist and a globally-recognized expert in translational cancer research, Dr. Hait’s work has touched millions of Patients throughout the State and around the world,” said Hart. “We are elated to honor Dr. Hait for his tireless work on behalf of Patients and New Jersey’s growing life sciences ecosystem.”

Amicus Therapeutics’ Chief Patient Advocate, Jayne Gershkowitz and ten-year old Patient Advocate Max Schill will receive the second annual “Heart of BioNJ” Award in honor of their dedication and selfless work on behalf of Patients.

Advanced Accelerator Applications (a Novartis Co.), Allergan, Amicus Therapeutics, Eli Lilly, GSK, Helsinn, Insmed, Kyowa Kirin, Janssen Biotech, Merck & Co., Otsuka America, Regeneron, Sanofi, Shionogi Inc., Sun Pharmaceutical and Teva Pharmaceutical will be honored with Innovator Awards for each receiving novel FDA drug approvals from the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) in 2018.

The evening features a cocktail reception from 4:30 p.m.-6:00 p.m., dinner program from 6:00 p.m.-8:30 p.m. ending with a dessert reception from 8:30 p.m.-9:30 p.m.
