BioElectronics Corporation’ Study on Postoperative Pain Reduction Published in the Aesthetic Plastic Surgery Journal

FREDERICK, MD--(Marketwire - November 03, 2011) -

BioElectronics Corporation (PINKSHEETS: BIEL) (OTCQB: BIEL), the maker of inexpensive, disposable drug-free topical pain and healing devices, today announced the publication of an article in the peer reviewed journal Aesthetic Plastic Surgery that demonstrates the effective use of BioElectronics Corporation Pulsed Radio Frequency Energy (PRFE) therapy to reduce postoperative pain.

“Postoperative pain is still a major problem that continues to be undertreated. There are significant benefits to controlling postoperative pain, including faster surgical recovery with fewer postsurgical complications. With this published study BioElectronics clearly shows that its innovative medical devices can significantly contribute to patients experiencing a decreased amount of postoperative pain. In this particular clinical study, there was at least a 50% reduction in postoperative pain compared to the placebo group,” commented Ian Rawe, PhD, BioElectronics Director of Clinical Research. “We are progressing with larger clinical studies, for example, our 200 patient C-section recovery study, and are confident that these clinical studies will produce results that support, and add to the finding presented in this published article.”

“It has been clear to us for a long time that our products reduce the amount of patient pain when recovering from a soft tissue injury,” commented Arnon Horev, BioElectronics VP Sales and Marketing. “We believe that peer reviewed publication of our clinical studies can only benefit BioElectronics in gaining greater recognition and acceptance of our innovative products in the medical community.”

The article, titled, “Control of Postoperative Pain with a Wearable Continuously Operating Pulsed Radiofrequency Energy Device: A Preliminary Study” can be viewed at: http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/22037572
