The OPUS Solenoid Operated Rocker Valve. This is the product of a co-development effort between Bio-Chem Fluidics, Inc. (Bio-Chem), and Koganei Corporation (Koganei), bringing to market a Manifold Mount Rocker Valve specifically designed to meet the needs of clinical diagnostics and life science applications.

The Bio-Chem and Koganei engineering teams worked closely to modify the existing successful Koganei PVR valves to meet the challenging needs of the clinical diagnostic and life science OEMs. This is the initial offering of the OPUS series Rocker Valves, with a 1.6mm orifice. The OPUS valve is approximately ½ the size and has 60% of the internal volume of competitive valves while maintaining equivalent flow rates. The OPUS series has life expectancy under real world conditions exceeding 10 million cycles.

Under the terms of the agreement, Bio-Chem will have exclusive rights to distribute co-developed valves manufactured by Koganei Corporation to OEMs in North America and Europe, while Koganei will continue to market its standard PVR products thru its existing distribution network.
