Bayer HealthCare Pharmaceuticals Introducing New ALEVE(R) Liquid Gels

MORRISTOWN, N.J., March 13 /PRNewswire/ -- Bayer Consumer Care announces the introduction of ALEVE(R) Liquid Gels, combining the all-day pain relieving power of ALEVE (naproxen sodium) with “liquid-fast” speed and convenient dosing for those who suffer from back and joint pain.

Whether you’re a marathon runner, weekend tennis ace or nature-hike enthusiast, back and joint pain can sideline even the most active person. According to the National Institutes of Health, back pain will affect approximately 80 percent of people in the United States at some time during their lives(1). Back pain is also the second most common reason for visits to the doctor and a direct cause of health care expenses of $20 billion each year(2).

Targeted for adults aged 25 to 49 who want to stay active, ALEVE Liquid Gels offer relief from minor aches and pains due to backache, muscle aches, minor arthritis pain, headache and the common cold. Just two ALEVE Liquid Gels can provide this all-day relief, where it would take four or even eight pills with other brands.

“As a very effective product providing all-day relief, ALEVE has made a difference in the lives of millions of people who suffer from minor arthritis pain,” said Jay Kolpon, Vice President, Marketing and New Business Development, Bayer Consumer Care. “The introduction of ALEVE Liquid Gels allows us to connect with a new consumer segment and offer fast relief to active people who don’t want to be slowed down by back or joint pain.”

ALEVE Liquid Gels are sold in 20ct, 40ct, 80ct sizes as well as a 160ct club size, with suggested retail prices starting at $5.49. The active ingredient in each Liquid Gel is naproxen sodium (220mg). Adults and children 12 years and older may take one capsule every eight to 12 hours while symptoms last, and should not exceed three capsules in a 24-hour period.

ALEVE Liquid Gels are now available at food, drug and mass retail outlets nationwide. For more information, visit www.ALEVE.com.
