CHANGZHOU, China, May 5, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- Faced with fast economy and population growth, an aging population, and a rising public health awareness, China’s medical device industry has been growing rapidly in recent years, and the markets with the largest demands have been Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou and other first-tier cities. However, the entry of a large number of medical device companies in a short time makes these “high-end” markets in first-tier cities increasingly saturated. How do medical device enterprises look for wider markets for their further growth? With the introduction of new medical reform policies, China’s National Health and Family Planning Commission and National Development and Reform Commission will invest RMB100 billion in supporting primary healthcare institutions; medical device industry will thus usher in an era of explosive growth in primary healthcare market.
Jiangsu Province has 31,000+ healthcare institutions, and its number of hospitals ranks second in China; its annual healthcare expenditure reached RMB154.3 billion, ranking third in the country. With a solid industrial base, it is China’s most important hub for medical device industry. Its favorable investment environment and market order make it a No. 1 choice for medical device brands from home and abroad who seek to invest and build their presence. The fast expanding demands in Jiangsu’s medical device market is opening up wider market space for domestic and foreign enterprises. However, a special, efficient trade platform has long been lacking in Jiangsu to match its significant position and huge demands in medical device market.
With the promotion efforts of Jiangsu Provincial Government, Jiangsu International Medical Technology Expo 2015 (MEDITEXPO Jiangsu 2015) will be held at the West Taihu Lake International Expo Center on September 24-26, 2015. It is organized by UBM Group, the largest commercial exhibition organizer in Asia, and supported by a dozen of regulators and organizations including Jiangsu Health and Family Planning Commission, Jiangsu Food and Drug Administration, Jiangsu Association for Medical Device Industry, Changzhou Municipal Government, Changzhou National Medical Instrument International Innovation Park, Changzhou International Medical Equipment City, etc. The exhibition will fill the role of facilitating the trade and cooperation in medical device sector in East China, with Jiangsu as the sector’s core area, and supporting the growth of medical device industry. It will be the first high-end exhibition of medical device held in Jiangsu.
The host city Changzhou has China’s only national level medical device innovation base, and is home to Changzhou International Medical Equipment City. It combines the operations of the “Six Centers”, including Exhibition Center, Information Center, Commerce and Dealing Center, Logistics Center, the Center for Industry, Academia and Research, Product Quality Inspection Center, will soon become a national level medical device distribution center that provides a varieties of services and platforms for enterprise qualification approval, product R&D, certification and licensing, trade and information exchange, helps medical device companies in their production and business operations and healthcare institution in their procurements needs.
At the same time, Changzhou is the largest production base of orthopedics equipment, medical supplies, IVD diagnosis and rehabilitation equipment. The exhibition will attract a large number of professional audience and buyers from home and abroad, and provide integrated services including product and manufacturer search, product trial, and the facilitation of business negotiations and cooperation. So far, a number of exhibitors have planned to hold nationwide product ordering sessions during the exhibitions, and a series of public biddings facilitated by Jiangsu Health and Family Planning Commission and Changzhou Municipal Health Bureau will be held in parallel; and healthcare institutions of various levels will attend the exhibition and make their purchases.
As one of the organizers of MEDITEXPO, UBM Group holds a variety of renowned medical exhibitions including MEDTEC series exhibitions, the most influential of its kind in the world; DENTECH China, the largest dental device exhibition, and CPHI China, a globally leading exhibition in pharmaceutical sector.
We believe MEDITEXPO 2015, through combining the host’s incomparable advantages in resources and Jiangsu and Changzhou’s huge market demands and solid industrial base, will be a successful chapter in China’s medical device exhibition history.
