Scientific American will release the third annual Worldview: A Global Biotechnology Perspective in a Super Session at this year’s BIO International Convention. Created in partnership with the Biotechnology Industry Organization (BIO), the publication explores the diverse economic regions of the world, highlighting success stories, policy achievements, cutting-edge science and the unique challenges that lie ahead. After a presentation by CNN personality and TIME Magazine editor Fareed Zakaria, a panel of international thought-leaders, moderated by Dr. Zakaria, will examine biotech growth and focus on BRIC (Brazil, Russia, India and China) country efforts to build local biotechnology hubs. The session will highlight what countries are doing well, and what countries could be doing better to foster biotechnology innovation, collaboration and sustained growth. Autographed copies of Fareed Zakaria’s new book, The Post American World 2.0, will be given to the first 250 attendees at the session.
