RAPA is a private 45-radiologist practice that has been providing diagnostic and therapeutic imaging services for more than 80 years. RAPA provides a full range of imaging procedures and interventional treatments at more than 20 facilities in Arkansas. At RAPA's outpatient imaging facilities, state-of-the-art equipment and cutting edge technology are put to work to provide the best possible care for Arkansans.
"We are excited about taking our practice to the next level with AMICAS," said John Meadors MD, chief radiologist and chairman at RAPA. "We need cutting edge technology to help make our large and highly distributed practice more efficient and to facilitate our growth initiatives for other area facilities. With AMICAS, we have a solution that will help us accomplish both of these goals."
Under the terms of the agreement, RAPA will utilize new, Web-based technology for integrated reading, marketing, teleradiology, and results distribution initiatives. Included in the partnership deal are AMICAS PACS(TM), AMICAS Reach(TM), and AMICAS Teleradiology(TM) solutions.
"We provide reading services for a broad array of hospitals and clinics today, but our current solution does not allow us to load balance our reads across this heterogeneous environment," said Dr. Meadors. "Before AMICAS, radiologists at our clients' sites would have no visibility into the operations at any of our other sites. With AMICAS, we found a solution that would drive productivity gains by enabling our radiologists to read from a single worklist for both daytime and evening reads -- regardless of the physical location of our radiologists or the facility for which they are reading."
As 100 percent Web-based solutions, AMICAS PACS, AMICAS Teleradiology, and AMICAS Reach were designed to enable radiology groups to realize the benefits of a uniform, flexible, and powerful workflow. This design helps radiology groups to realize a superior return on investment by maximizing the use of existing resources and by establishing a standardized and uniform work environment for radiologists.
"We are very pleased about our new partnership with RAPA, one of the largest and most respected radiology groups in the country," said Stephen Kahane MD, president, chief executive officer, and chairman of AMICAS. "Our partnership with RAPA highlights our focus on delivering an excellent return on investment for our customers by improving operational efficiency and facilitating growth initiatives."
