SAN CLEMENTE, CA--(Marketwire - January 25, 2010) - PacerView Technologies, LLC, a California medical technologies company, has sold substantially all of its assets related to its PacerView™ technology to Bard Access Systems, Inc. ("Bard").
The PacerView™ technology -- created by Dr. Peter M. Rothenberg -- is intended to facilitate central venous catheter placement following characteristic changes in an electrocardiogram.
"I am excited to connect this technology with a company like Bard," said Dr. Rothenberg. "The medical system is under increased pressure to do more procedures for more people. However, reimbursements are generally decreasing while costs are increasing. A technology that could potentially save time and money with improved efficiency and accuracy would be a win-win for clinicians, patients and the medical system."
Davis Wright Tremaine LLP advised PacerView Technologies on the transaction.
