Novate Medical Raises $12.5 Million

Novate Medical Ltd received round B investments totalling $12.5 million from Credit Agricole Private Equity and VC firm Seroba Kernal Life Sciences. Round A investors ACT Venture Capital and Seroba Bioventures continued to invest, participating in a smaller role.

The Galway, Ireland based medical device company was born in 2006, and is primarily focused on biodegradeable filters that help prevent cardio-vascular disease and pulminary blood clots often associated with surgical procedures and lengthy flights. Ladies tennis legend Serena Williams recently had a well publicized blood-clot scare from which she is till not fully recovered.
