MYOS Corporation (OTCBB: MYOS) (the “Company”) today announced that it has entered into agreements with various institutions, accredited investors and insiders for a $5.6 million private placement of its common stock. It is expected to close on or about July 6, 2012, subject to the satisfaction of customary closing conditions.
Investors in the private placement agreed to acquire approximately 22.4 million shares of the Company’s common stock, for approximately $5.6 million in aggregate proceeds. The Company intends to use the proceeds for working capital, research and development, strategic initiatives and other general corporate purposes.
