ST. LOUIS, July 3 /PRNewswire/ -- MMS - A Medical Supply Company, one of the largest independent healthcare distributors, announced today that it has completed its acquisition of Medical Innovations located in Calhoun, Georgia and Raleigh, North Carolina. By adding this company, MMS will now have a major Southeast presence. The acquisition closed on June 29, 2007. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.
MMS President, Gary Reeve, stated, “This addition to the MMS family will give us a strong presence in the Southeast and continue our goal of being the only regional distributor with a national presence.”
Medical Innovations is primarily in the long term care market. “MMS plans to expand the business into new areas where we can lend our expertise in Acute Care, Hospice and Home Care,” says Tom Harris, Executive Vice President of MMS.
The newly named MMS Medical Innovations will operate under the continued leadership of Michael Wofford, Chairman and C.E.O. “We are very excited about the acquisition, it is a great fit and opportunity for our company to grow together with MMS in markets we currently serve,” states Mr. Wofford.
