ANN ARBOR, Mich., Oct. 8 /PRNewswire/ -- Michigan’s life science industry professionals, investors and service providers will gather in Lansing next week to discuss the issues affecting sector growth in the state and learn about new technologies, trends and strategies for building the industry into an engine driving an economic resurgence. The MichBio Expo is planned for October 16-17 at the Lansing Center in the state’s capital. The two day-event features a wide variety of activities covering a broad spectrum of life sciences topics:
October 16 Program Highlights:
High School Student Career Day: Sponsored by MichBio and hosted by Michigan State University, this free event introduces high school juniors and seniors from around the state to educational and career opportunities in the life sciences. It will feature break-out sessions led by MSU faculty and life sciences company representatives in the areas of Medical Devices/Bioengineering, Investigative Laboratory Sciences, Biosystems/GIS & GPS, Global Warming & Environmental Sustainability, and Animal Health. The sessions are followed by lunch at the MSU Union and tours of MSU campus research facilities, including the Superconducting Cyclotron Laboratory, Center for Advanced Microscopy, Structural Fire Testing Laboratory, Radiology, and Research Technology Support Facility. Lansing-Area Life Science Facilities Tours: Guided tours, from 9am - 3pm, of seven area companies including:
