MELVILLE, N.Y., Oct. 4 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- The Healthcare Solutions Division of Keane, Inc. , a leading business process and IT services firm, today announced that it has been awarded a contract by the Medical University Hospital Authority to install EZ-Access Patcom as the enterprise-wide revenue cycle management solution at the Medical University of South Carolina (MUSC) Medical Center. EZ-Access Patcom is the next generation of Patcom Plus, an award-winning patient management solution and the flagship product of Keane’s Healthcare Solutions Division (HSD).
A Keane client since 1989, MUSC selected browser-based EZ-Access Patcom for its ability to streamline billing and registration processes, improve workflow, and provide a flexible and effective solution to address current and future legislative requirements.
“The installation of EZ-Access Patcom will allow MUSC to benefit from a new level of efficiency - most notably, online eligibility checking, online claims status inquiry, remote access, and advanced audit trail capabilities,” said John Dell, OCIO, director of financial and administrative systems at MUSC. “We expect a positive ROI due to the robustness of the product, its ease of use, and the integration of the enhanced functionality at the front end.”
Additional efficiencies include complete screen customization, which will improve workflow, reduce the time spent on each registration, and enhance the patient experience at each of the organization’s 100+ intake points. As a browser solution, EZ-Access Patcom supports MUSC’s outsourcing arrangements with third-party contractors by securely extending the reach of the business office without requiring additional software licenses or elaborate communications setups.
“We are pleased to continue our longstanding partnership with MUSC by providing the enhanced systems necessary to remain competitive in healthcare today,” said Kathy Haynes, Keane managing director. “MUSC’s selection of EZ- Access Patcom will enable this highly-regarded organization to further strengthen its financial performance without experiencing any disruption to cash flow.”
