MedAptus Appoints Dr. David Delaney Vice President Of Business Development

BOSTON, Dec. 28 /PRNewswire/ -- MedAptus, Inc. today announced that Dr. David Delaney has joined its executive team as the vice president of business development. Dr. Delaney was most recently the director of web development & applied informatics at Boston’s Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center, a core Harvard Medical School teaching hospital, where he is still a practicing physician and the associate director of medical critical care.

During his tenure as director of web development & applied informatics, Dr. Delaney led the technical and product development of a number of the medical center’s highly visible, award-winning applications including PatientSite, the external website engine, and eTicket, a desktop charge capture solution.

“David’s combination of clinical experience, real-world insight, tremendous passion for technology and proven ability to translate this knowledge into high quality products makes him the ideal addition to the MedAptus executive team. Our customers, especially our end-user clinicians, will truly appreciate the perspective that he is uniquely qualified to offer,” said Dennis Mitchell, president and vice-chair of MedAptus.

In his new role at MedAptus, Dr. Delaney will guide the evolution of current product offerings in collaboration with the Clinician Advisory Board. In addition, he will focus on identifying growth opportunities and market direction, driving new development, and developing strategic partnerships.

“Having envisioned, built and deployed a desktop charge capture solution, I am personally acquainted with the challenges of building a successful solution. As a clinician who has utilized a number of charge capture systems, I have experienced the pain first hand when it isn’t done right. The MedAptus solution makes charge capture painless from the user perspective while creating tremendous gains in the revenue cycle that creates a compelling return on investment,” said Dr. Delaney. “I am excited to join MedAptus at a time marked by the evolution of its best-in-class mobile charge capture solution into a mature, balanced product offering that intuitively supports the clinical and administrative needs of the physician at the point-of-care. By leveraging and extending its revolutionary charge capture product, MedAptus is poised for tremendous growth.”

Dr. Delaney holds a B.A. from Wheaton College, and received his medical degree from State University of New York, Syracuse. His postgraduate medical education was completed at Harvard Medical School, including residency training in Internal Medicine at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center, the Harvard Combined Fellowship in Pulmonary & Critical Care Medicine, and a Harvard/National Library of Medicine Fellowship in Medical Informatics. He continues to practice medicine as a critical care physician, serves as Associate Director of Medical Critical Care and holds an appointment at Harvard Medical School as an Instructor in Medicine.
