King of Prussia, PA—8-November 2011 – Theorem Clinical Research, previously Omnicare Clinical Research, announced today that Marc Hoffman, MD has joined the company as Senior Vice President and General Manager for their newly formed Pharmaceutical Development Business Unit. In his new role, Dr. Hoffman will have strategic oversight for Theorem’s core CRO operation, including Project Management, Clinical Monitoring, SMART (Site Management And Patient RecruitmenT), and Pharmaceutics. He will also oversee the company’s Medical Operations.
“With over 20 years of experience across both the CRO and pharmaceutical industries, Marc has an intense understanding of the drug development process, as well as how to run clinical trials on-time and on-budget,” said John Potthoff, PhD, President and CEO of Theorem. “Under his leadership, I believe our core CRO business will thrive and continue to differentiate itself as a global, specialized team dedicated to delivering positive outcomes on our clients’ behalf.”
Most recently, Dr. Hoffman served as the Vice President, Medical and Scientific Affairs for Covance. Prior to Covance, he worked in various Clinical Development, Medical Affairs and Regulatory roles for such organizations as Hospira, Inc., Baxter Healthcare Corporation, Kendle and Parexel.
Dr. Hoffman earned his M.D. from the American University of the Caribbean School of Medicine. He went on to earn a Diploma of Pharmaceutical Medicine from the Royal College of Medicine and the University of Wales School of Pharmacy in the United Kingdom.
