TUKWILA, Wash., July 27 /PRNewswire/ -- The Center for Health Promotion Inc. (CHP) announced today that Tim Kilgallon has joined the company as chief executive officer. Kilgallon’s appointment completes CHP’s transition to a privately held, standalone company.

As president of Applied Discovery, Inc., a leader in the information and business services market, Kilgallon oversaw a fourfold increase in annualized quarterly revenues and high valuation sale to LEXIS/NEXIS. As CEO of Pointshare, a provider of community-based online healthcare services for providers and payers, Kilgallon raised $60 million in four preferred financing rounds between 1997 and the company’s sale to Siemens AG in 2001. Prior to Pointshare, Kilgallon held several positions, including division president, chief financial officer and general counsel at Medaphis Corporation.

CHP spun off from its parent organization, Group Health Cooperative, in November 2003 with funding from investors Polaris Venture Partners of Seattle; Three Arch Partners of Portola Valley, Calif.; and Kaiser Permanente Ventures of Oakland, Calif.
In addition to appointing a new CEO, the CHP board also announced that, in recognition of the company’s achieving its initial targets, the investors have increased the committed capital by $3 million.
