John Dingell Scolds FDA Over Foreign Drug Oversight

WASHINGTON (MarketWatch) -- Pounding his desk and raising his voice, a key House committee chairman on Tuesday castigated the Food and Drug Administration’s oversight of imported drug safety as “archaic and fraught with inaccuracies.” Rep. John Dingell, D-Mich., and fellow lawmakers grilled FDA Commissioner Andrew C. von Eschenbach for more than two hours, demanding to know how much more money and personnel the agency needs to prevent more deaths from drug contamination.
