John Anastasio is AMDeC’s First Director of Purchasing

February 21, 2012 -- AMDeC (The Academy for Medical Development & Collaboration) has been moving forward with the development of a new research product purchasing consortium for its Member institutions, which include leading academic medical research institutions in the New York region. These efforts have led to the recent hiring of John Anastasio as AMDeC’s first Director of Purchasing. In this role, Anastasio will be responsible for developing and implementing AMDeC’s innovative research product Purchasing Consortium, as well as expanding the company’s Vendor Partnership Program.

Anastasio is a seasoned purchasing professional with extensive experience in medical and research product supply chain and operations. He held the position of Director of Supply Chain Management for Catalent Pharma Solutions (formerly Cardinal Health PTS) and Songbird Hearing. He was most recently Director of Operations at Cozzoli Machine Company where he led the filling and packaging solutions organization through a corporate turn-around by developing a new strategic direction that emphasized customer focus, cost cutting, process efficiency and Best-In-Class practices. Anastasio holds a BA in Business Administration and a MBA in Finance, both from Rutgers University.
