James R. Nelson Retires From Schering-Plough Corporation

KENILWORTH, N.J., Feb. 13 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Schering-Plough Corporation announced today that James R. Nelson, vice president and senior patent advisor, has retired after more than 21 years with the company.

Prior to his retirement on Feb. 1, Nelson provided executive and strategic advice and counsel on all matters pertaining to intellectual property including input on the preparation, filing, prosecution and maintenance of patents and trademarks worldwide.

Nelson joined Schering-Plough from private practice in 1985 as a patent attorney. Following a number of promotions, he was appointed staff vice president, Patents and Trademarks in 1994. Nelson holds a B.A. degree in chemistry, an M.S. degree in physical chemistry and a J.D. degree, all from Rutgers University, New Jersey.
