NORTHBROOK, Ill., Sept. 9 /PRNewswire/ -- Intelligent Medical Objects, Inc. has announced a fifteen-year license agreement that will allow all current and future Epic users the option of integrating IMO's controlled medical vocabularies into the Epic suite of products.
The agreement allows Epic users access to IMO(R) Personal Health Terminology (PHT)/ICD-9, IMO(R) Procedures/CPT and IMO(R) Medical Necessity data sets, all of which are designed to be embedded within clinical software systems and make them more responsive to the wide differences among clinicians who typically have their own unique way of stating medical diagnoses and treatments.
Cornell University's Weill Medical College was first to recognize how IMO's vocabularies could make a powerful addition and first to implement them.
Dr. Adam Cheriff, who led the technical team at Weill Medical College that integrated IMO into EpicCare, adds, "EpicCare with IMO's vocabularies allows our providers to express themselves in clinically meaningful ways while still retaining links to standards for billing and research purposes. Our physician users are very pleased with this solution."
