HealthRamp Announces Its CarePoint Companion Program And Related Compliance Efforts

NEW YORK, May 3 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Ramp Corporation today announced that its HealthRamp CarePoint(TM) technology suite has been extended to provide its CarePoint Companion(TM) suite at the point of prescribing on a handheld device. The details of the Companion suite are being filed in an Advisory Opinion with the Office of Inspector General. Ramp Corporation, through its wholly-owned HealthRamp subsidiary, markets the CarePoint and CareGiver technology suites. CarePoint enables electronic prescribing, lab orders and results, Internet-based communication, data integration, and transaction processing over a handheld device or browser, at the point-of-care. CareGiver lets long term care facility staff place orders for drugs, treatments and supplies from a wireless handheld PDA or desktop Internet web browser.

HealthRamp’s patent-pending Companion technology is intended to provide total marketing content management for the pharmaceutical industry. CarePoint Companion delivers electronic detailing, intelligent messaging and valuable point-of-care information, enabling pharmaceutical companies to make their detailing sales force more effective, monitor feedback from physicians in real-time, and much more. Intelligent messaging provides interaction with physicians, never before possible, based on patient-specific demographics, utilizing a discreet and HIPAA-compliant approach. CarePoint Companion will also give pharmaceutical companies the ability to track sampling data in real-time and receive electronic reorder requests for samples directly from the individual physician.

“Our CarePoint Companion technology is designed to help maximize the effectiveness of the pharmaceutical industry’s detailing salesforce. For example, using CarePoint Companion, an individual pharmaceutical representative will be able to electronically invite a hundred physicians simultaneously to a speaker program, distribute confirmations, and provide directions from the individual physician’s office to the event. This communication alone would save a pharmaceutical representative countless hours of telephone time and is accomplished in a physician-friendly manner. In developing CarePoint Companion, we have received significant input from industry experts and performed the necessary regulatory diligence in order to minimize the effort required by a pharmaceutical company to make a prudent buying decision,” stated Ramp CEO and President, Andrew Brown.
