GenturaDx to Display IDbox™ System at American Association for Clinical Chemistry (AACC) Annual Meeting

HAYWARD, Calif., July 26, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- GenturaDx's proprietary diagnostic system, the IDbox System, will be on display at the American Association for Clinical Chemistry annual meeting on July 24 - 28 in Atlanta (booth #1606). Company President and CEO Mark Bagnall, Senior Vice President of R&D Geoff McKinley, PhD and Chief Scientific Officer Jesus Ching, PhD will be available to answer questions about the system, GenturaDx's recently completed external alpha studies and plans for upcoming beta studies.

"The IDbox is designed to deliver high performance, system flexibility and simplicity of operation at an affordable price," said Bagnall. "At AACC, we will discuss all these points in greater detail. We will show internally generated data demonstrating the use of the IDbox with several sample types and assays, including HSV, CMV, Influenza and Chlamydia. In addition, we will show data generated on our beta systems demonstrating the high levels of precision achieved on this early version of our system."

GenturaDx will bring a full menu of molecular testing to both large molecular labs seeking automation and to labs seeking to initiate molecular testing in house. The compact IDbox System performs sample preparation, amplification and detection in a self-contained cassette, and can run one to 12 samples concurrently per instrument. The company anticipates offering a rapidly expanding menu of assays and will initially focus on infectious diseases with women's health and respiratory illness applications.

GenturaDx will be showcasing system performance in an oral presentation at the Molecular Diagnostics World Congress (MDWC) in South San Francisco on September 29 30, 2011. GenturaDx will also deliver additional performance data in a poster session and host a workshop at the Association for Molecular Pathology (AMP) annual meeting November 17 -19, 2011 in Grapevine, Texas (Booth 721).
