Heidelberg, March 3 2008 –SYGNIS Pharma AG (Frankfurt: LIO; ISIN DE0005043509; Prime Standard), today announced that it has appointed Dr. Peter Simon to the newly-created role of VP Business Development.
Prior to joining SYGNIS Dr. Simon, 49, held the position of Senior Director, Business Development at Jerini AG and was responsible for the out-licensing and partnering of their lead product, Icatibant, in Europe, Asia and Latin-America. He has over 19 years’ experience of international business development within the pharmaceutical and biotechnology industry and has held senior positions at Nycomed, Merz + Co., Smith-Kline Beecham and Klinge-Fujisawa. At SYGNIS Dr. Simon will be responsible for developing and implementing the commercial strategies with regard to the Company’s innovative development-stage CNS compounds and in-licensing of promising product candidates.
