Dr Anita Sexton Appointed as Vice President of International Operations at Synexus

Dr Anita Sexton has been appointed Vice President of International Operations at Synexus with responsibility for the management and operation of all Synexus research centres in the UK, Eastern Europe, India and South Africa. Synexus, which is based in Manchester, is the largest multinational company in the recruitment and running of late stage clinical trials.

Anita has over twelve years’ experience in pharmaceutical contract research and R&D. She joins from Quest Diagnostics Clinical Trials (formerly SmithKline and Beecham), where she was Director of Business Strategy with responsibility for developing and implementing long-term strategy and for assessing international market growth opportunities.

Anita obtained a BSc in Cell and Molecular Biology before gaining a Ph.D in Neuroscience. She also holds an MBA.

Synexus was recently taken over by Lyceum Capital. Significant funds injected by this private equity group will allow Synexus to complete its international rollout plans rapidly and provide customers with a truly competitive offering. Anita will help to further strengthen Synexus’ operational efficiency on a global scale in line with this projected growth.

Michael Fort, CEO of Synexus, commented: “We are delighted that Anita is joining us. Her experience, especially of cross-cultural scenarios, will be vital for the fast international growth Synexus is undergoing.”
