DecisionPath Consulting To Design Management Information System For Medicare Prescription Drug Application Processing

GAITHERSBURG, Md., Jan. 4 /PRNewswire/ -- The Social Security Administration (SSA) has awarded DecisionPath Consulting an order worth $973,000 to develop requirements and design the system for measuring performance of Medicare Prescription Drug application processing. Faced with mounting pressure to reduce the costs of delivery for existing services and to roll out new processing tasks such as those mandated under the Medicare Prescription Drug, Improvement and Modernization Act of 2003, SSA has embarked on an aggressive program to modernize the way it collects, organizes, and provides management and financial information to all levels of SSA management.

“We’re proud to have been awarded this work,” said Steve Williams, President of DecisionPath. “Like most federal government agencies, Social Security is being told to do more with less. By architecting their management information systems to provide timely, actionable performance information, they’re increasing the likelihood of success as they roll out Medicare Prescription Drug application processing, as well as all of the other services the agency provides to citizens.”

This award extends the scope of work being performed by DecisionPath for SSA under the program to design and develop a work measurement and managerial accounting system in support of the President’s Management Agenda.
