IRVINE, Calif., Sept. 1 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- CorVel Corporation today announced a disaster response program for customers, patients and associates in the Gulf Coast area. The Company offers mobile services for the purpose of processing medical billing anywhere in the disaster area. In addition, CorVel provides and coordinates case management services which include patient advocacy activities.
A toll free call center is available for claims processors to utilize in the event local service is disrupted. This emergency response hub is also a way for patients and customers to communicate about any questions they have. The hub is located in the Company’s Coral Springs, Florida call center; the number is (800) 929-0107.

The Company’s New Orleans, Louisiana and Biloxi, Mississippi offices are temporarily non-operational due to Hurricane Katrina, but CorVel business will continue at full volume. All transactions that are normally conducted in Mississippi or Louisiana are being directed to alternative branches in that region. The Company offers the remote and mobile scanning of insurance claims documents in Mississippi, Louisiana and Alabama, that can then be accessed over the internet from any remote claims office.
CorVel is also activating an Associate Disaster Relief Fund to assist CorVel associates in the effort to provide food, water and shelter to those affected.
