"I am thrilled to have Carleen Kelly fill this important position," said Scott D. Cotherman, Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Corbett Accel. "She has demonstrated terrific leadership skills within the Agency. During this time of great opportunities for our firm, having someone of Carleen's caliber will be key in continuing the successful enterprise of the New York advertising operations. She will make a great addition to our Executive Leadership Team."
Carleen Kelly joined Corbett Accel - New York last March to help direct the Agency's growth. Kelly's immediate responsibility was managing the U.S. and global launches of a new cholesterol-lowering product for Merck & Co., Inc. The responsibility included commandeering the professional and managed care promotions, as well as the integration of strategies and tactics among Omnicom Group agencies, such as Porter Novelli and DDB New York. Kelly also was instrumental in bringing in the managed care business for the brand, which resulted in additional growth for the Agency.
"Omnicom is dedicated to attracting and retaining top talent," said Tom Harrison, CEO of Diversified Agency Services, a division of Omnicom Group. "Carleen has demonstrated leadership within the Agency coupled with an extensive scope of experience within the industry. She can truly lead the Corbett Accel - New York advertising operations to greater heights."
Prior to Corbett Accel, Kelly served as the Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer (COO) for Torre Lazur McCann Healthcare WW, a division of McCann Erickson. Her tenure at Torre began as a Senior Vice President, Management Supervisor on GlaxoSmithKline's antidepressant product. She was promoted within her first year to Executive Vice President, Client Services Director. During Kelly's two years in account management at Torre, she spearheaded revenue growth from $9 million to $15 million. Joe Torre recognized Kelly's leadership and business development acumen within the Agency and tapped her to work directly with him as the EVP/COO.
Kelly has held management positions at various East Coast and medical promotion companies, amassing more than 15 years of health professional and managed care marketing experience. Kelly began her career in the pharmaceutical industry as a sales representative for Pfizer Inc. She graduated with a bachelor's degree in marketing from St. John's University in New York and was a member of The President's Society.
Shortly after starting at Corbett Accel, Kelly experienced the difference between working with Corbett Accel and other agencies. "Corbett Accel has a tremendous collection of talented and enthusiastic people," noted Kelly. "I have been impressed with the Agency's commitment to educate and nurture its staff. Agencies like Corbett Accel are dedicated to building a supra-culture that will continue to attract and retain great talent within our industry. I believe that's one reason why Omnicom continues to outperform other groups."
