DOYLESTOWN, PA, September 13, 2005-BioStrategy Partners, Inc. (BioSP), a virtual incubator for pre-seed and early stage life sciences companies in the tri-state area, announced today that The Lankenau Institute for Medical Research (LIMR) has become a Platinum member of the organization.
Located in suburban Philadelphia, on the campus of Lankenau Hospital, LIMR’s biomedical researchers and clinical scientists conduct research into the causes of cancer and heart disease with the goal of improving their treatment and prevention.
“We are delighted to welcome LIMR to our organization,” said Dr. Carolyn D’Arville, BSP’s founder and president. “Its history and prestige as a research organization support our mission to help the earliest stage life sciences technologies in the region move through to their next level of commercialization.”
As a Platinum supporter, LIMR will assist in this effort by allowing BioSP companies use of wet lab space and office facilities. In addition, LIMR will become a premier site for BioSP forums, seminars and events. LIMR faculty will also act as a resource for BioSP clients in need of project support, explained D’Arville, while BioSP, in turn, will perform due diligence on prospective technologies for incubation at LIMR.
“This partnership will benefit both BioSP and The Lankenau Institute,” said LIMR president, George C. Prendergast, PhD. “LIMR has its roots in biomedical research in the Philadelphia area, dating back to the 1800’s. We are proud to be continuing that tradition by helping to educate the next generation of clinicians and biomedical researchers, both on campus, and now, through our relationship with BioSP.”
