Durham, NC and St. Louis, MO (March 28, 2006) — bioMérieux, a-leading international diagnostics group, has built its reputation on innovation, creativity and the pursuit of knowledge. As a reflection and extension of that innovation, bioMérieux is seeking talented and inventive young artists to adorn the company’s two U.S. facilities, located in Durham, North Carolina and St. Louis, Missouri. The “Innovation in Art” contest requires students to creatively capture one of bioMérieux’s product lines, divisions, solutions or products in a painting. The four selected themes are Hemostasis, Molecular, Virology and Bacteriology. As a reward for innovation in art, bioMérieux will award cash prizes to the top three artists in each state contest – $3,000, $1,500 and $750, respectively. Donations in the amount of $1,500 will also be presented to the schools at which the winning students study art. The contest is open to all students enrolled full time in an art degree program at colleges and universities in North Carolina and Missouri.
