Bill Gates’ Ex-Science Advisor Launches Life Sciences Fund, Eyes $150 Million

Dr. Boris Nikolic, science advisor to none other than Bill Gates, is launching a new life sciences fund. Seattle-based Biomatics Capital Partners is looking to raise $150 million, according to a regulatory filing.

Nikolic, a Harvard physician with a background in immunology, advised Gates’ Catalyst 3 (bgc3) as well as the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation. He led a $120 million round in which Gates and 12 other investors last August funded the hot CRISPR gene editing startup Editas Medicine
