Baird Adds Biotech and Pharmaceutical Expert to Healthcare Investment Banking Team

Chicago, March 26, 2007 – Baird, an employee-owned, international investment banking, wealth management, private equity and asset management firm announced today that Franklin M. Stokes, 37, has joined as managing director in the Health Care investment banking group. Stokes will be based in the Chicago, IL office.

At Baird, Stokes will focus on advising clients in the biotechnology and specialty pharmaceutical sectors, and will report to Brian Doyal, managing director and head of Baird’s Business and Technology Services investment banking practice.

“Frank’s expertise in the biotechnology and pharmaceutical industries will be an asset to Baird’s Health Care investment banking practice,” said Steven Booth, head of investment banking at Baird.

Stokes was most recently managing director and head of the Specialty & Generic Pharmaceutical practice at Wachovia Securities, where he spent 12 total years including service at acquired firms Wheat First Securities and first Union. Stokes holds both Masters of Business Administration and Juris Doctorate degrees from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
