This expansion will enable our experienced staff to continue to provide the most advanced medical technology to patients, while meeting their needs for comfort.”
Significant Expansion and Renovation in Atlantic City
The expansion will include the construction of a seven-story, 198,000-square-foot tower to be built adjacent to the existing hospital. Scheduled for completion in 2008, the expansion will include:

“The financial support we have received from the City, State and Federal government has been generous and heartwarming. We thank those who have embraced and championed this project. We are grateful for your support. We are also very mindful of the responsibility to those we serve. Hospital Name Changes to Reflect Regional Focus
AtlantiCare also announced it has renamed the medical center AtlantiCare Regional Medical Center (City and Mainland campuses) to better reflect the medical center’s regional delivery of health and wellness services. Employees joined hospital officials in unveiling new signage at both campuses today.
“We have experienced robust growth in our region over the last several years,” said Lynn. “The demand for high-quality and convenient healthcare services continues to escalate. The name AtlantiCare Regional Medical Center accurately reflects the regional services we provide our customers.”
Other Capital Investment Initiatives
In September 2003, the medical center’s Mainland Campus in Pomona broke ground on a $35 million, 67,500-square-foot addition. This expansion will include a Center for Childbirth and an expanded Emergency Department. The grand opening is slated for early summer. Expansion of the hospital’s two campuses, as well as construction of the $14.5 million LifeCenter in Egg Harbor Township, New Jersey, increases AtlantiCare’s current investment in the region to more than $150 million.
“We are committed to improving the health and wellness of our community, with a focus on the diverse needs of southeastern New Jersey,” said Tilton. “The investment in our hospital on both campuses is another example of AtlantiCare’s ongoing commitment to providing the quality care our patients need and deserve.
