Asynt DrySyn(TM) - One Size Fits All Laboratory Heating

August 2010 – The Asynt DrySyn® range of laboratory heating blocks offers the ultimate in flexibility for heating (and cooling) round-bottomed flasks, tubes and vials. These efficient heating blocks can now be used with any hotplate stirrer regardless of shape or size and offer controlled heating for single or multiple reaction vessels with volumes from 1ml to 5000ml. Unlike many other brands, DrySyn blocks can be used on any brand of hotplate stirrer without the need for adapter plates. Excellent reaction visibility and improved safety are additional benefits achieved by eliminating messy, potentially dangerous oil immersion baths. Widely used in the pharmaceutical industry, DrySyn blocks are also popular with university teaching laboratories, as a single, low cost hotplate stirrer can be used to heat a wide range of different flask sizes.

The current DrySyn range is energy saving with a heat-up performance at least 25% faster than the equivalent size oil baths and can heat reaction flasks up to 300ºC. The DrySyn Cool is used with a standard laboratory chiller and was shown in independent tests to give better temperature control, faster cooling (to -30ºC) and better ability to cope with exotherms than a conventional ice bath. All models are fully compatible with magnetic stirring.

The excellent thermal transfer characteristics of the blocks not only give efficient heating and temperature control but also mean that flask breakages are almost unknown with DrySyn. The blocks are manufactured from 100% recyclable anodised aluminium.
