In his younger years, Cela had the desire to enter medical school and to become a doctor so that he could help others improve their health. However, life had different things in mind for him, and he completed his Master’s degree in Business at the University of Texas. Over the next few years, he worked in acquisitions, private equity and investment work. This background was instrumental for helping to get Apnix Sleep Diagnostics off the ground. In 2000, one of Cela’s close friends was being treated for sleep apnea with a mask that was to be worn at night. Through his personal contact, Cela saw what a difference the mask made for his friend, and he instantly committed to helping others who suffered from this condition to enjoy those same results. Cela’s long-standing desire to help others improve their health as well as his strong background in business were instrumental in the founding of Apnix Sleep Diagnostics.
