CHELMSFORD, Mass.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--ZOLL Medical Corporation (NasdaqGS: ZOLL), a manufacturer of medical devices and related software solutions, announced today that Advanced Paramedic Ltd. (APL) of Peace River, Alberta, is the first emergency service to purchase the ZOLL Propaq® MD Monitor/Defibrillator in Canada since it was approved by Health Canada in December 2010. APL plans to use the Propaq MD aboard its critical care bariatric transport aircraft, the only one of its kind in Western Canada, which services Alberta, British Columbia and other western provinces. Discussions are underway to add additional units to its fleet of air ambulances, which handles approximately 900 calls per year and is the busiest dedicated medevac fixed-wing service in Alberta.
