Adamed – an Active Partner and a Key Partner of Bioforum 2011

April 7th, 2011 -- A very special team - the R&D Department of the Adamed company, will participate in BioForum – The Central European Forum of Biotechnology and Innovative BioEconomy which will take place May 11 – 12th in Lodz, Poland.

The participation of the company in BioForum goes back as far as the year 2000, currently Adamed actively supports the event and is a major Partner.

During BioForum, the representatives of the company will be available in a specially arranged venue – The Private Business Meeting Room, where over 30 previously arranged B2B meetings will take place. The B2B participants will have the opportunity to present the R&D Department of Adamed their offer as well as collaboration propositions in a range of R&D areas.

BioForum gives its’ participants a unique opportunity to find partners from international scientific and business communities in the field of R&D conduct and implementation. Adamed leads three R&D programmes. Those are related to: metabolism, oncology and neuropsychiatric fields. We want to gain contacts, which will result in successfull future cooperation in the field of chosen therapeutic areas – says Krzysztof Kurowski, Chief Scientific Officer. As an addition, interesting collaboration propositions that we received last year during BioForum will make us look for collaborations in fields in which we currently do not lead R&D in.

Adamed will also be present at the exhibition booth, where the company profile, containing many aspects of activity will be presented in detail. This also generates an opportunity to meet and discuss experiences with the Adamed R&D Team.

As an addition, as one of innovative biotech companies, Adamed will participate in the Masters of Innovation competition. During the competition, which will take place during BioForum, the leader of CE Biotech companies (which excells in innovations through innovative R&D implementation) will be emerged.

Adamed is a leader in the Polish market for new generation drugs in many therapeutic areas, such as cardiology, psychiatry, pulmonology, gynecology, opthalmology and diseases related to the alimentary system as well as urinary track diseases.

A priority for Adamed is leading R&D related to innovative therapies for the most prevalent diseases suffered by mankind. Currently Adamed leads R&D on an innovative therapy for type II diabietes and a project being a Polish reponse to CNS diseases. A new cancer treatment is also under development. The therapy has a selective approach to affecting the cancer tissue.

Adamed is also developing its R&D departments rapidly. To this day Adamed has invested almost 200 million PLN in R&D, and plans to invest another 50 million in new drug development in 2011.

The company’s laboratories has over 20 patent protected drug formulas. 7 application, reported to the Polish Patent Office were related to new, innovative compounds. The company is owned 100% by Polish capital. The CEO of the company is Maciej Adamkiewicz.

BioForum – the biggest event for CE BioEconomy – will take place on 11-12th May 2011 in Lodz. The biggest trade fair of the BioSector (over 100 exhibitants from 9 countries), the B2B meeting platform – BioPartnering and a Seminar Programme led by world renowned specialists – attracts attention of the leaders of biobusiness. BioForum has been gathering the scientific (pharma and life science) and business community for years. BioForum 2011 promotes the great, not yet fully untapped potential of the CE region.
