Astech Projects Goes from Strength to Strength

Runcorn, UK (20th October, 2011): Leading automation systems developer, Astech Projects has experienced a particularly successful first half of the year, with revenue having more than trebled compared to the first half of 2010. Having secured recent orders in the Laboratory Automation arena, as well as the fully automated Xelair® Series 5 automated inhaler testing systems, the second half of 2011 has had a very positive start. Reflecting this success, and in order to provide consistent customer service and support across its growing customer base, Astech Projects has expanded its in-house team of Software Engineers and Project Managers. Furthermore, new additions to the sales team have resulted in orders from a range of industry sectors, including pharmaceutical, automotive and food.

As the newly appointed Business Development Manager, Alwyn Jones BEng, has over 12 years’ experience selling automation products, solutions and services to highly regulated industry sectors, such as pharma, healthcare and medical devices. Working for renowned market leaders in the specialist technology sectors of machine vision and robotics, Alwyn’s knowledge of the process and packaging arena will help build on existing success. Karl Booth BEng, Applications Engineer, brings 10 years’ of mechanical engineering experience in the motorsport industry. After three years in the biological containment sector, he has joined Astech Projects as an integral part of the team, to develop innovative technical solutions. As a degree qualified Mechanical Engineer, Luke Owen has over three years’ experience within a technical sales role. He recently joined Astech Projects as a Sales Engineer (Lab Automation), taking advantage of his expertise of materials handling and linear motion systems within the automation industry.
