Veteran Pharmaceutical Executives Launch Dampier Consulting Group

NASHVILLE, Tenn., March 26, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- Pharmaceutical industry veterans Al Dampier and Jim Aderhold today announced the launch of Dampier Consulting Group (DCG), a life sciences consulting firm focused on the biotechnology, pharmaceutical, medical device and medical diagnostic industries. Comprised exclusively of senior-level consultants with an average of over 25 years of industry experience, the firm provides commercialization, marketing, sales force planning and effectiveness, business development, managed care, and leadership training and organizational development services to clients ranging from emerging biotechnology firms to Fortune 100 pharmaceutical companies in the U.S. and abroad. Unlike many large consulting firms, DCG's experience-based approach ensures clients receive highly customized insight, strategies and solutions designed to address core challenges while supporting continued growth and development.

"From increasing regulatory pressure to tighter cost controls and shrinking sales and marketing resources, the life sciences industry has undergone a profound transformation in recent years," said Al Dampier, DCG's Chief Executive Officer. "As companies struggle to do more with less, our seasoned consultants not only fill in the gaps, but also provide the breakthrough thinking necessary to develop innovative strategies that fuel long-term growth."

Both Dampier and Aderhold bring extensive experience in the life sciences industry. A nationally recognized leader in the healthcare industry, Dampier has more than 25 years of experience in consulting, disease and information management and human resources. Prior to forming DCG, he operated Dampier Recruiting Associates, an executive talent management firm, which also provided comprehensive human resources operational support. A registered pharmacist, Dampier also spent more than a decade in management with Pharmacia/Upjohn and Zeneca.

Aderhold's background includes more than 40 years in pharmaceutical sales and marketing, including stints at Warner-Lambert and CIBA. As executive director of portfolio management in CIBA's drug development department, he oversaw business development and pre-launch marketing planning for anti-inflammatory and pulmonary products. Aderhold established his marketing career rising through the sales and marketing ranks of Warner-Lambert, eventually serving as senior product manager of anti-infectives for the Parke-Davis and international divisions. Most recently, he served as vice president of marketing and sales for Cumberland Pharmaceuticals, where he participated in taking the company from formation through growth leading to an IPO and listing on the NASDAQ.

"Our approach is unique in that it pairs highly specialized professionals with a broad range of commercial experience with proprietary consulting models to create executable solutions," said Aderhold, who serves as DCG's Chief Operating Officer. "We believe this depth of knowledge and experience is necessary to address the complex challenges our clients are experiencing."

"While the obstacles facing every organization are different, the common thread in the services DCG provides is their focus on delivering measurable, yet sustainable, results," said Mark Durham, Executive Vice President of Strawn Arnold Ashpitz Groover and a former senior vice president of Valeant Pharmaceuticals and BioVail. "I have relied on their expertise on many occasions and they have always delivered highly customized strategies implemented with efficiency and integrity."
