SAN MATEO, Calif., Nov. 15 /PRNewswire/ -- Epocrates Inc., provider of mobile and online clinical applications for healthcare professionals, today announced the appointment of Patrick Jones to its board of directors. Jones will serve as chairman of the audit committee, which will oversee the financial controls and reporting practices of Epocrates.

Jones’ career has spanned over three decades of senior level financial and general management positions across an array of international and domestic technology companies. While with Intel, Jones was responsible for all worldwide accounting and internal and external reporting as it grew from $8 billion to more than $25 billion in revenues. As the senior vice president and chief financial officer at LSI Logic, Inc., a worldwide developer of custom semiconductors, Jones managed the financial functions for the billion-dollar, public company. He has also spent many years working and living in Asia, Europe and Latin America. He currently serves on the boards of several wireless software and service companies around the world.
