Gecko Biomedical Selected To Participate In TEDMED’s “Hive” In November 2015

PARIS--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Gecko Biomedical, a French medical device company developing innovative polymers in the form of sealants and adhesives for wound closure, announces that the company has been selected to take part in TEDMED’s “Hive” in November 2015 in Palm Springs, California. Aligning with this year’s event’s theme “Breaking Through to a Healthier Tomorrow”, Maria Pereira, Head of Research, will represent the company and discuss its innovative technologies being designed to improve post-surgical healing and patient recovery.

Maria Pereira, Ph.D., is Head of Research, responsible for the adhesive products pipeline and for the translation of the core technologies from the academic to the industrial settings. Maria holds a PharmD degree from the University of Coimbra and a PhD in bioengineering systems within the MIT-Portugal framework.
Maria was named on the 2014’s “35 Innovators Under 35” list by MIT Technology Review. She was also recognized by Forbes Magazine in its 2015 “30 under 30” selection in Healthcare.
